Odisha Police Cybercrime & Cyber Intelligence Training
In May 2025, Dr. Tandon led a specialised four-day training programme for 200+ Odisha Police officers at Police Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The programme focused on strengthening capabilities in:
- Social Media Intelligence
- Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
- Crypto Crime Tracing
- Telecom Log and CDR Analysis
- Dark Web Investigations
- Cyber Intelligence
The programme was inaugurated by the Director General of Police, Odisha, and concluded with certificates being awarded to participating officers.
The initiative reflected an important part of Dr. Tandon's continuing work: helping law-enforcement agencies move from awareness towards practical cyber investigation and intelligence capabilities.
Cyber Safety for Communities
Cybercrime is no longer limited to large cities or technology professionals.
Recognising this changing landscape, Dr. Tandon has also taken cybersecurity awareness into communities where people may have limited access to formal cyber education.
In 2026, he led a cyber-awareness programme in Kathwara village, Lucknow, where residents participated in a community-focused cyber safety initiative.
The programme addressed common threats including:
- Digital arrest scams
- Fake police and bank calls
- OTP and PIN theft
- Online investment fraud
- Mule accounts
- Reporting cybercrime through the 1930 helpline
The initiative reflected a broader belief that cyber safety must reach beyond classrooms and corporate environments and become part of everyday digital citizenship.
Cybersecurity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The cybersecurity landscape is changing rapidly with the rise of Artificial Intelligence.
Dr. Tandon's recent work increasingly addresses the security implications of AI and emerging technologies.
His areas of interest include:
- AI-driven cyber threats
- Deepfakes
- Voice cloning
- Synthetic media
- AI-enabled malware
- AI security
- AI governance
- Threat intelligence
- Digital forensics
- Quantum-safe security
His approach emphasises security by design: building security considerations into systems, organisations and digital products rather than treating cybersecurity as an afterthought.
As AI becomes more deeply integrated into everyday life, his work focuses on helping organisations, investigators, government agencies and individuals understand both the opportunities and risks created by the technology.
